Esso Australia is one of Australia's largest oil and gas producers. Since 1969 we have operated the Bass Strait offshore oil and gas fields and associated production and processing facilities. We produce a significant amount of Australia's crude oil requirements and supply natural gas to Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.
ExxonMobil Australia’s downstream business, trading as Mobil Oil Australia, was established in Melbourne in 1895, and is Australia’s oldest oil company. Mobil operates a refinery at Altona, in Melbourne. The company also operates and/or supplies a number of product distribution terminals and bulk storage facilities, and a nationwide network of almost 850 Mobil branded service stations.
