Name: Philippa University: Monash University
Course: Commerce / Engineering (Electrical & Computer Systems) (Hons)
----------------------------------------------------
Philippa began her career with ExxonMobil in 2008 after graduating from Monash University with a double degree in Commerce / Engineering, majoring in Accounting and Electrical & Computer Systems Engineering. Her first role was as an Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls engineer in the Maintenance and Reliability Group. This involved coordinating a preventative maintenance program that tests the availability of critical safety devices. Other major projects range from installing alarm management systems for onshore and offshore monitoring, facilitating Safety Integrity Level workshops to help optimise plant/platform testing frequencies, and being a technical contact for offshore control system upgrades. Since day one, she has been given responsibility for day-to-day and long-term work. Based in Southbank, Philippa enjoys travelling to the onshore plants and offshore platforms and interfacing between all work teams, including engineering, maintenance, operations and management. “The main reasons why I decided to work for ExxonMobil are the overseas travel opportunities, long term career development, training programs and the ability to work with knowledgeable people in the world’s leading oil and gas company. I am fortunate to have visited Houston three times already - for training courses, to participate in global network meetings and to deliver presentations at other ExxonMobil affiliates. I look forward to a fulfilling career with the company.”
