Altona Refinery

The refinery at Altona is one of Victoria's most important industrial facilities:  

• Provides half of Victoria’s fuel needs
• Pays millions of dollars each year in taxes / rates
• Provides employment for 350 people, and generates many thousand additional jobs through links with the wider community
• Contributed millions of dollars to local schools, hospitals, community groups and environmental projects over the past 60 years
• Capacity of 80,000 barrels a day

2009 marked the 60th anniversary of our operations in Altona – 60 years of fuelling Victoria.
