Community opera

ExxonMobil, in conjunction with Opera Australia, Orchestra Victoria and the Wellington Shire Council, presented an 'Esso Night at the Opera' to more than 400 local residents who live in the Sale/Gippsland region on 7 August 2012.

The free community event was held at the Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre in Sale and featured a highlights program of popular opera songs and music, with stars from Opera Australia and a 40-piece orchestra from Orchestra Victoria.

In Williamstown, Melbourne, a similar free community concert was held in association with the Hobsons Bay City Council in 2011.

Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre

ExxonMobil (operating as Esso) and its Bass Strait co-venturer, BHP Billiton, have been long-standing contributors to the Gippsland community.

One of our major joint venture projects has been support of the Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre. The centre provides a focal point for the performing arts and other entertainment events in Wellington Shire and the Gippsland region.
