At the event, Andrew Warrell, Manager Refining, Australia and New Zealand congratulated key personnel for bolstering Mobil’s performance across the refinery’s strategic focus areas – Structural Improvement, Site Optimisation and Reliability.
Everyone recognised through the awards had one crucial factor in common – they had all made a significant contribution to Mobil’s continued success.
A number of initiatives recognised on the night had been awarded a 2016 ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Excellence (APEX) Award.
“Our Australian operations were honoured to receive three APEX awards this year, which acknowledge outstanding achievements across ExxonMobil’s Refining and Supply organisation in the Asia Pacific Region,” said Andrew.
At the event, Andrew also presented six Fuelling Victoria Awards chosen by management to recognise the achievements of people working at Mobil’s refining and supply operations in Victoria.
“The Fuelling Victoria Awards recognise those members of our team who have helped us improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of our fuel supply business in Victoria,” he said.
The 2016 Fuelling Victoria Awards Ceremony included one stand-out APEX Award which recognised the core team responsible for increasing awareness and use of safety program tools at Altona Refinery.
“The team focused on educating and engaging all workers on site about the importance of our safety program, encouraging correct use of the tools designed to help keep everyone safe,” said Andrew.
“The APEX award recognised their efforts, which saw Altona Refinery get through a major maintenance activity in 2015, involving more than 500 additional workers, without a single person being hurt.”
