After a rigorous testing period over the cooler months, the IRB will play a major role in responding to emergencies, training lifesavers and ensuring the thousands of visitors to Lakes Entrance’s beautiful beaches are able to enjoy a safe and supervised outing.
ExxonMobil Australia is a long-term supporters of Surf Live Saving in Lakes Entrance under the Esso brand, and of surf live saving clubs more broadly around Australia. We also recently assisted the Mid Coast Surf Life Saving in South Australia in the purchase of two new motors for their IRBs.
Offshore Operations Manager Geoff Humphreys said the team is pleased to support the Lakes Entrance surf lifesavers who give so much of their time and energy to keep Gippsland residents and tourists out of harm’s way in the unpredictable waters of Bass Strait.
“Surf lifesavers are an invaluable part of what makes Australia’s beaches the best in the world.
“With so many of our employees, families and local residents visiting Lakes Entrance regularly, we see this as an important community donation and one we are extremely proud to make,” said Geoff.
