Esso wins WPC Group community award
The award recognises contribution to community, in this instance in relation to local jobs and employment opportunities for youth at Longford Plants and Long Island Point Plant.

WPC Group is a not for-profit community enterprise which matches job seekers with meaningful work. Esso Australia takes on apprentices, cadets and trainees each year via WPC Group across a range of operational, technical and administrative roles, helping to give young people the opportunity to live and work in their local community.

LIP Plant Manager David McCord, who accepted the award on behalf of Esso Australia, said that all businesses operating in a local community should be looking at how they can make a contribution to their local area.

“We as a business give back to a community through a variety of programs, but most importantly via the local jobs we are able to provide for young people in the area.

“I am proud of the contribution the LIP Plant makes to the wider Hastings area each and every day and of our ongoing commitment to provide quality jobs for the youth in our community,” he said.
