Esso Australia Wells team reaches new milestone

In this video, Esso Australia Wells Engineering Supervisor, Sarah Robertson, shares an update on the work recently completed to remove conductors from the Kingfish B and Mackerel platforms in Bass Strait.

Over the last few years, Esso Australia has completed around $600 million of decommissioning works in Bass Strait, including successfully removing the Seahorse and Tarwhine facilities, completing plug and abandonment activities at Blackback, and Whiting wells, and significantly progressing well decommissioning activities on Kingfish B and Mackerel.

As part of this, over the last few months, our Wells team simultaneously carried out conductor recovery operations across Kingfish B and Mackerel using different methods. Trialing two methods has helped us to identify best practices and learnings that we can apply as we work to remove more than 300 conductors across our other platforms in future.
