The program provides the opportunity for the public to learn more about the challenges facing Victoria’s coastal and marine environments, which support a unique variety of species and habitats.
Altona Refinery has again renewed its support for the Hobsons Bay City Council’s local ‘Summer by the Sea’ program in 2019, with Andrew Wegener of Australian Wildlife Lectures returning to local Hobsons Bay libraries this summer to showcase his animals in an interactive display.
ExxonMobil Australia Community Relations Manager Melanie Saliba said support for ‘Summer by the Sea’ was just one of many environmental and educational initiatives the company supports in Melbourne’s west.
“We have also supported a range of Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) conservation projects since the 1990s, including a schools outreach program. Environmental care and concern is an important and ongoing priority for our local business and we appreciate the opportunity to contribute to public awareness initiatives such as ‘Summer by the Sea’,” she said.
