Across our operations people in the ExxonMobil Australia team are getting their COVID19 vaccine and participating in our #AusVaxChallenge to direct community contribution funding to their chosen charity.

As part of the challenge, anyone who receives or books in to receive their COVID19 vaccine by 16 July can vote for which charity they would like to see receive a portion of our available funding.

“It is really fantastic to see so many people getting on board and sharing their vaccination experiences through the #AusVaxChallenge,” said Marcus Hirschfield, Manager of Medicine and Occupational Health.

“I have been particularly impressed by the active participation of our various leadership teams, particularly at our operating sites.”

Since the #AusVaxChallenge began, all eligible members of the Altona Refinery Leadership Team and Longford Core Leadership Team have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.

In addition, most front-line supervisors and all eligible members of the Core Leadership Team at Long Island Point have also put their arm out to get vaccinated, along with most members of the Australian Leadership Team.

“It’s really great to see our leaders leading by example and so many other members of our workforce making a concerted effort to arrange their vaccinations,” said Marcus.

“By getting vaccinated, we’re not only helping to keep Australia COVID-safe, but we’re helping to keep our operations free of COVID19 so that we can confidently continue our work supplying our essential energy to Australia.”
