Our people volunteer during National Volunteer Week

An update on our volunteering with Foodbank Victoria

As part of ExxonMobil Australia’s contribution to Foodbank Victoria, our people are participating in a number of volunteering activities with the organsiation throughout 2021.

So far this year, 33 of our team members have participated in five volunteering days, packing food to be sent to charities and community groups across Victoria.

Foodbank Victoria calculates that during these sessions our people have packed around 50,000 kilograms of food -that equates to providing around 100,000 meals to vulnerable Victorians, setting the bar high for the groups set to volunteer later in the year.

On 19 May, a group of ExxonMobil volunteers helping out at Foodbank Victoria were treated to a special morning tea in honour of National Volunteering Week.

“Whether it’s everyday emergencies or in times of crisis, Foodbank Victoria has been providing vital food relief for more than 90 years,” said Public and Government Affairs Manager, Andrew Murphy.

“I am very pleased that Foodbank Victoria has been able to provide these volunteering opportunities to our staff as part of our significant community contribution in support of their bushfire and COVID19 relief efforts in 2020.

“With the lifting of COVID19 restrictions earlier this year, our team are very eager to lend a hand to Foodbank Victoria. Up to 120 employees having expressed interest in participating in the volunteering program through to the end of the year."
