The event was attended by key business and community stakeholders and follows Esso Australia’s gift of 40 original artworks to the Gippsland Art Gallery earlier this year. The extensive collection of Australian art showcases a wide variety of local renowned artists, including works by Albert Tucker, Douglas Dundas and Sali Herman.
Speaking at the event, ExxonMobil Australia Chairman Richard Owen said that it was fitting that the art donation comes at a time when Esso has returned to the Sale town centre.
“It is fantastic that these wonderful pieces have returned to take pride of place in Sale. The donation of this collection to the Gippsland Art Gallery reflects the importance of the Gippsland community to our company and how much we appreciate the support we have received from the community for over half a century,” he said.
