Recognition for service and volunteering spirit

In acknowledgement of his bravery along with his generosity of time and spirit over the years, the CFA recently awarded Dwayne the National Service Medal which recognises prolonged exposure to hazardous circumstances in the service of the community. To receive the award, nominees must have delivered 15 years of diligent service at a minimum.

From 2001 to 2017, Dwayne provided invaluable service to the CFA in times of emergency and natural disaster. This included providing front-line support amidst the devastation of the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.

LIP Plant Manager David McCord said he was proud to work alongside Dwayne who has given so much of himself to the community outside of work.  

“As a company and as individuals, we at ExxonMobil have a vital role to play in making a positive effect on the communities we operate in.

“There is no finer example of that ideal than Dwayne, who for many years has risked life and limb to protect the lives and homes of local residents. It is wonderful to see him receive the recognition he so richly deserves.

“In addition, LIP is also proud to support the CFA locally through the ExxonMobil Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) and contribution program and has donated more than $60,000 to local CFA brigades since 2008,” he said.
