Around 12 employees, including LIP Plant Manager David McCord, planted trees on French Island on 21 September as part of a ‘Day of Caring’ team initiative. The tree-planting activities were facilitated by Landcare Australia, a not-for-profit environmental care organisation that Esso has a long history of supporting in the local area.
David thanked participating staff for signing up to get their hands dirty.
“Environmental care is an area of priority for our local business. Our ‘Day of Caring’ tree-planting project provided a valuable opportunity for our team at LIP to have a continued, positive impact on the environment near to our local operations.
“The Gippsland Basin Joint Venture has provided grants to support the French Island Landcare group to protect and enhance an existing area of remnant vegetation adjacent to an existing valuable roadside vegetation corridor link on French Island. Via our Day of Caring tree-planting, we were able to further support this important environmental project,” he said.
