Providing the gas to keep you warm this winter

Hundreds of Esso Australia employees and contractors worked together to inspect, repair, upgrade or replace critical equipment across offshore platforms in Bass Strait and at Longford Plants earlier in the year. These works occurred during planned shutdowns following months of planning.
Esso Australia Production Manager Stuart Jeffries said that preparation over the warmer months is crucial to peak gas performance in the winter.
“Importantly, due to strong planning and communication throughout all of the onshore and offshore works, a large program of work was completed to support ongoing safe and reliable operations.” he said.
The winter peak gas season is driven by the increased need for heating in homes and businesses across the east coast states. Esso Australia’s Gippsland operations have been supplying natural gas to Australia’s east coast for half a century.
“Natural gas supply is of vital importance to the local and wider Australian economy. As one of Australia’s leading gas suppliers, we ensure we meet our customers’ needs in order to heat local homes, power local businesses and support the manufacturing of everyday essentials,” Stuart said.
