Esso Australia’s contribution to the Lakes Entrance Surf Life Saving Club has allowed the club to replace the outboard motors on two of their inflatable rescue boats (IRB) and supported the purchase of a brand new patrol vehicle, which will start guarding the local shoreline this year.

Purchased just in time for the peak summer period, the Esso-branded patrol vehicle and new IRB’s will help ensure Lakes Entrance’s stunning beaches remain safe throughout 2022.

“With the assistance of Esso, Lakes Entrance SLSC will be able to confidently protect the community and carry out surf lifesaving duties to the highest standard,” said Trent Stothers, Lakes Entrance SLSC member and Esso Aviation Manager.

Esso Production Manager Geoff Humphreys said the company was committed to maintaining its longstanding relationships with important community groups, like Surf Life Saving Clubs, across the Gippsland community.

“We have had a long association with the Lakes Entrance Surf Life Saving Club for many years now, providing contributions that support the purchase of equipment which in turn allows them to respond to emergencies efficiently and keep community members safe,” he said.

“Lakes Entrance beach is one of Australia’s most stunning shorelines, enjoyed by many of our employees and their families, along with locals and tourists year-round. We’re honored to support this vital community cause,” he continued.
