Earlier this month, 26 individuals were recognised for advancing their skills and knowledge in their area of expertise as part of the Advanced Skills Milestones (ASM) program.

The ASM program was designed to help guide development and leadership growth for technical specialists in our workplace, recognising employees who have developed advanced technical skills and for the contributions they have made to the company across their area of expertise.

“The ASM process has been a great process in measuring personal growth, achievements and recognising skill development. It’s a great tool to close any identified skills gaps whilst also boosting strengths. I like that it provided me the motivation to improve my skills and knowledge levels, ultimately refining a better version of myself professionally,” commented David Chilcott, Operations Supervisor.

Kellie Davies, Decommissioning Safety, ERP & OIMS Coordinator, also felt that the program provided a great opportunity to reflect on the broad experiences she has had throughout her career and the impact it has had on the continual development of her skills in Safety Management.

“I feel very honoured to be recognised and be amongst people who have been my mentors as well who have guided me throughout my career,” Kellie highlighted.

“This process has not only helped me reflect on the knowledge and experience that I have gained over the years, but to receive this recognition at the global level is a bonus. As part of the assessment process, I particularly enjoyed having discussions with a number of senior technical professionals in Houston where I got to learn about their career paths and the many opportunities that are out there for technical professionals,” said Eva Loo, Development Planning Lead, Production Subsurface.

Suzanne Borrett, Joint Interest Asset Manager highlighted that the ASM program reinforces the importance the company places on technical capabilities.

“Receiving an ASM provides great recognition for skills and experience we’ve gained over our careers. It also motivates me to continue to lead and mentor others to ensure we continue to develop the breadth and depth of skills that are key to the company’s long-term success,” she said.

Congratulations to everyone who was recognised this year!
