Fiona Knight, Principal of Rosedale Primary, ensured David was put through his paces as guest Principal.
“Principal for a Day provides us with an excellent opportunity to enable someone from the business community to gain a unique insight into the learning environment at our school,” said Fiona.
“David participated in a variety of activities such as leading classes, sharing ideas with the staff, meeting parents and exchanging insights with the student leadership team,” added Fiona.
This is the second year that David has participated in the program with a local school and as David explained, for Esso, education was a key focus of its community investment program.
“Esso places a tremendous amount of focus on education and we have a long standing tradition of investing in our local schools to play our part in fostering the next generation of leaders and building capability within local communities. We provide grants for maths and science programs for regional schools, including Rosedale Primary School, and see our participation in Principal for a Day as another opportunity for us to promote the importance of maths and science education to local students,” said David.
Principal for a Day is delivered by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Training (through the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership).
