Launching a Mens Week in nations Big Shed

ExxonMobil joined with members of the Bipartisan Friendship Group of Men’s Sheds at Parliament House in Canberra for the official launch of the 2017 Men’s Shed Week.

The second annual Men’s Shed Week, themed ‘doing local good’, is being celebrated from Monday 25 September to Sunday 1 October to showcase the work of Men’s Sheds in contributing to local communities.

“Men’s Sheds provide a much-needed service, improving health and quality of life for men by cultivating social connections and helping them to provide positive contributions to their communities,” said ExxonMobil Australia Senior Government Relations Adviser Tristan Menalda.

“ExxonMobil has been supporting Men’s Shed events in Victoria and we are looking forward to working with them in future to help build more inclusive communities.”

The strength of the Men’s Shed concept is in its simplicity and adaptability to member and community needs

“The foundation of a good shed is the great effort of a community to make it happen,” said Bipartisan Friendship Group of Men’s Sheds Chair the Hon Mark Coulton MP when he officially opened Men’s Shed Week.
