On 10 August 2017, two free performances of Opera Australia’s Schools Tour production of The Magic Flute were held at the Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre to a packed audience of local primary school children.
The Magic Flute is a mysterious and wonderful tale, following four young people’s journeys as they discover their own strengths and weaknesses and pass the tests of true love. Its story of truth and light, friendship and forgiveness, told with enchanting music, results in a captivating and engaging production for all ages.
ExxonMobil’s sponsorship of Opera Australia’s Schools Tour production is a new initiative that complements the “Esso Night at the Opera” free community concert that the company has hosted in Sale since 2004.
“We’re proud to support this exciting new initiative and enable our local children to experience this performance here in Sale” said David Anderson, Esso Longford Plants Manager.
“For more than three decades now ExxonMobil has been working with Opera Australia to bring the wonders of world-class opera to a wider audience and adding these two free shows for school children is another fine example of the significant investment we continue to make in the Gippsland community,” he added.
