Surf Club support rolls on

Mobil is helping surf life saving clubs to keep communities safe in South Australia.
Mobil has continued its support for the Mid Coast Surf Life Saving Group in 2020, providing funding to support the purchase of new rescue equipment.

The Onkaparinga Council, where the former Adelaide Refinery is located, has five surf life saving clubs that service the community - Aldinga Bay, Christies Beach, Moana, Port Noarlunga and South Port. The clubs provide community safety services and actively patrol the surf coast area from October through to April each summer season, as well as responding to emergencies in the community throughout the full calendar year.

Treasurer of the Mid Coast Surf Life Saving Group, Keith Holman, said ongoing support from local companies such as Mobil, even during the current tough economic conditions, will help ensure the clubs maintain a high level of safety at these beaches.

“In the past we have used Mobil’s support to purchase new inflatable rescue boat motors for each club,” said Keith.

“This year, we plan to purchase new rescue equipment, such as a rescue board, which will help our clubs continue to keep our beaches safe, especially as we head into Summer.”

Mobil has had a long association with the Mid Coast Surf Life Saving Group, with regular contributions over many years in recognition of their important work to keep communities close to the site of the former Adelaide refinery safe.
