An exciting new project has recently been completed to convert Yarraville Terminal’s Bay 2 to a multi-product bay by adding capacity to load E10 unleaded petrol.

This year, the team at Yarraville has been focused on looking at ways to increase efficiency at the terminal. The Bay 2 project was designed to increase availability in the load rack for customers, thus creating a more efficient loading process.

Due to a rise in demand for E10, it was necessary to ensure loading capability was expanded to meet market needs.

Prior to Bay 2’s conversion, Yarraville Terminal had three multi-product bays and the team was keen to build upon existing assets to improve turnaround times for customers.

“We’re fortunate to have a talented team here and they moved quickly to initiate a small upgrade project,” said Yarraville Terminal Manager Heinz Klaumanns-Moller.

“Our site engineer and maintenance team were able to implement the change in just a few months.”

This has been one of many initiatives or upgrades carried out this year to improve the customer experience at the Terminal by making the loading process faster and easier.

The additional E10 loading capability in Bay 2 has now increased the availability for E10 by 33%, which translates to a significant reduction in wait times for customers.

“We expect to continue seeing congestion reduce at site resulting in much happier customers due to this improvement,” Heinz said.
