The Young Pipeliners Forum (YPF) provides an opportunity for young people involved in the pipeline and gas industry working in APGA member companies to get together and exchange ideas, network, share information, discuss issues in the industry and learn about other industry disciplines.

Mobil hosted a site visit for Victorian YPF members recently at Yarraville Terminal, and participants from the industry working with APA, Jemena, Denso Australia, Universal Corrosion Coatings, Inducta-bend and ServiceStream attended.

Zohaib Iqbal, Mobil’s ANZ Pipeline Engineer, is a YPF member and was instrumental in making the event happen.

Steven Flynn, Yarraville Terminal Manager, talked to the group about the terminal and its role in the Victorian fuel supply chain, the terminal’s history and recent projects undertaken to ensure it is operating efficiently.

He also highlighted ongoing investments, like the new truck loading facility recently completed, designed to strengthen Australia’s fuel security.

“It was great to have the YPF members visit the terminal to see first-hand how a major site like Yarraville operates,” Steven said.

“Yarraville is part of Mobil’s Melbourne terminal, one of Australia’s largest fuel distribution terminals, and plays a critical role in supplying fuel that many Victorians rely on every day.

“We enjoy taking part in events such as these that can help young engineers build on their industry knowledge.”
