Mobil Oil New Zealand staff recently joined a volunteer day for one of our key charity partner organisations, KidsCan.

The volunteer day was held at the KidsCan distribution warehouse on Auckland’s North Shore. Eight staff members and retail agents worked up a morning sweat, helping KidsCan staff to prepare food orders for KidsCan-supported schools, ensuring students at these schools are well fed and in a position to learn.

Mobil has a longstanding relationship with the KidsCan Charitable Trust, having supported the charity since 2018 in its goal to help create a brighter future for tamariki (children) in need.

For every coffee sold at selected Mobil service stations in New Zealand, Mobil donates 10 cents towards the programmes that KidsCan implements in primary schools and early childhood education centres across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The initiative has been very successful in raising much needed funds for the charity, with over $150k raised for KidsCan in 2021.

Every day in New Zealand, thousands of Kiwi kids go to school without basic necessities such as food, shoes or a warm jacket. KidsCan provides these essentials to those affected by poverty, so they can participate in learning and have an opportunity for a better future.

Mobil is focused on helping to improve the communities in which we operate and our partnership with KidsCan has provided additional income to a very worthy cause.

Convenience Retail Manager for Mobil Oil New Zealand, Karl Jones, said, “This is a really important partnership for our organisation, as it really aligns with our values around helping to improve education opportunities for children in our local communities.”

“The volunteer day was a great way for our staff to connect with the community and contribute to KidsCan’s vision of creating a better Aotearoa for all tamariki.”
