Connection March 2021

Welcome to the March 2021 edition of Connection
In this edition of Connection, we share some exciting and innovative developments in the delivery of gas to south eastern Australia.

Our West Barracouta project is nearing completion and on-track to deliver substantial and much-needed gas supplies to south eastern Australia in time for the winter peak demand season.

West Barracouta is set to be the largest domestic gas project to come along this decade and demonstrates there’s still plenty of potential in the Gippsland Basin.

Earlier this month our Commercial team successfully negotiated an innovative agreement between the Gippsland Basin Joint Venture and Air Liquide Australia, to capture and reuse Carbon Dioxide extracted from Gippsland gas.

March 8 was International Women’s Day and to help celebrate the contribution of women to our business and inspire more women to pursue careers in STEM we developed a short video in which some of the women of ExxonMobil Australia shared their experiences about working in a traditionally male-dominated industry like ours.

And just today, our Commercial Manager, David Berman, spoke at the Australian Domestic Gas Outlook Conference about the importance of the Gippsland Basin in Australia’s future energy landscape and some of the challenges and opportunities with delivering domestic gas to the Australian market.

We hope you enjoy reading David’s speech and learning about all of these business initiatives and more in this edition of Connection.
