A Christmas Carol

In a gesture of community goodwill this Christmas, Birkenhead Terminal stepped in to save the Seaside Carols at Semaphore event in Adelaide.

The annual event, run by the Semaphore Mainstreet Association attracts big crowds, however in 2017 their major sponsor reduced their grant, placing the much-loved, free family Christmas carols event in jeopardy.

Acting Public & Government Affairs Manager Melanie Saliba said that supporting the Seaside Carols at Semaphore event was a natural fit for the business.

“We always aim to support community groups near our operational sites and have contributed to the Semaphore Street Fair for many years. We are pleased that our support meant that the annual carols event for this community could proceed as usual,” she said.

In 2017, Birkenhead Terminal has provided more than $20,000 in community contributions to a range of community organisations, including $14,000 to support maths and science education in local schools through our Mobil Bright Future Grants.
