Canstar is Australia and New Zealand’s premier consumer research and expert ratings agency.
“This is a really big deal,” said Mobil Retail Sales Strategic Accounts Manager Donna Stewart. “The service station market is intensely competitive, to be named number one by the leading consumer ratings agency is a fantastic achievement.
“Since we began our strategic alliance with 7-Eleven four years ago we have been going from strength to strength.
“Last year we celebrated the opening of the 500th 7-Eleven Mobil service station and the network growth continues.
“Full credit to the 7-Eleven team for winning this top award.”
Canstar rates brands and products based on Australia-wide quantitative market research. In its 7-Eleven Mobil citation it said: “Competing against the juggernaut of the big two supermarkets, 7-Eleven’s partnership with Mobil brings many of the same features and discounts you have come to expect with a modern servo.
“Perhaps most noteworthy is its fuel price ‘lock-in’ app. You download the app for free (Apple or Android) and find out the best fuel price in your area. You can then lock this price in for seven days and use it at any 7-Eleven petrol station. This is especially useful with the wild fluctuations many Aussies experience at the bowser.
“You get the same great fuel Mobil is known for with 7-Eleven’s network of convenience stores – and yes, Slurpees.
“7-Eleven Mobil was the only brand to rate five stars for overall satisfaction in our latest review, in addition to service, facilities, convenience and range of other items for sale.”
Mobil’s Australia Retail Fuels Manager Frank Tudic congratulated the 7-Eleven team on the award.
“The 7-Eleven alliance is a tremendous asset to our fuels marketing strategy,” he said. “This award recognises the competitive advantage we have achieved by marrying Mobil’s quality fuels range with 7-Eleven’s excellence in convenience retailing.”
