Spreading a love of engineering

With a steady stream of families passing through the doors throughout the autumn school holidays, our ambassadors were kept extremely busy running hands-on activities and answering all manners of questions from budding scientists and engineers.
ExxonMobil's Nikki Calcraft said the partnership with Scienceworks was an important part of the broader community relations program for the sites.
“We are involved with a variety of local groups as part of our aim to support the communities in which we operate,” she said.
Nurin Veis, General Manager of Scienceworks, said Mobil’s support of the holiday program was invaluable.
“These activities have been designed to ignite curiosity in the next generation around the themes of engineering and science, delivered through interactive workshops, lightning room shows, conducting tours of the collection store, pumping station, as well as activating spot talks led by engineering experts.”
With so much interest and engagement with these sessions from young children, we can safely say that interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) fields remains strong and so too does the future of Australian engineering.
