International honour for Adelaide service station

In a globalised high-tech economy with online shopping and home delivery, the need for motorists to refuel their car as well as their own bodies while on-the-road remains as relevant today as it did in 1926 when the company introduced its first curb-side petrol pump into Australia.

The ongoing importance of petrol stations and convenience stores to populations around the world ensures competition is always hot for the title of International Convenience Retailer of the Year which had 14 international finalists in 2018, including Australia’s Andrash for their X Convenience, Plympton location.

This pioneering South Australian service and convenience station has developed a unique offering that contains the complete Mobil Synergy fuel offer, including Supreme+, and packaged food-to-go offerings with new and enticing and affordable ‘food for now’ concepts like a burger bar, in-house barista and an airy mezzanine seating area.

With a prime location just six kilometres outside of Adelaide, X Convenience, Plympton services over 1,500 commuters, brews more than 300 coffees and sells around 20,000 litres of Mobil fuel every day.

Mobil Oil Australia Retail Sales Manager, Frank Tudic, congratulated Andrash for the success and global recognition of X Convenience, Plympton.

“The key to success in any industry is innovation and adopting a customer-centric approach to business.

“Offering high-quality fuel is important but the ability further enhance the service station experience through inviting retail and dining options is what can transform a drive-in/drive-out service station into a destination unto itself.

“Congratulations to Andrash from the entire team at Mobil!”
