A celebration of fuelling excellence

A celebration of innovation, efficiency and reliability, the Fuelling Victoria Awards are held each year to commend the individuals and teams which are helping position our local business to grow.
The 2018 awards were announced on Thursday 2 August at a formal ceremony held at Melbourne’s iconic Eureka 89 which saw 37 Mobil employees honoured for their outstanding contribution to Mobil’s Australian fuels value chain.

Those recognised included teams who worked on Altona Refinery’s Thermofor Catalytic Cracker (TCC) demolition, negotiating the Melbourne Airport Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) lease and Fuels Facilities Operation Deed (FFOD) negotiation and implementation, as well as projects to improve the Melbourne Airport supply chain.

Altona Refinery Manager Riccardo Cavallo congratulated the winners who, through their incredible projects, are helping to cement Mobil as a valued and reliable supplier to Australia’s growing aviation and transport industries.

“With Australia experiencing growing competition from inside and outside of the country, it’s pleasing to see that there are so many world-class projects being rolled-out to improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of our fuel supply business.

“These awards recognise tremendous base improvements and projects that will be essential to help Mobil to compete and win in the Australian competitive landscape,” said Riccardo

In addition, 16 Mobil employees received ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Excellence (APEX) Awards in recognition of high-performing Australian projects which are having a significant impact in the Asia Pacific region. These projects included the Fluidised Catalytic Cracker (FCC) Vision Study, Fuel Gas to Qenos and TCC demolition initiatives.

“It’s pleasing to see the innovation and efforts of our Australian teams are being recognised at an international level. It is a testament to our world-class training, passion for innovation and commitment to excellence and we should all be extremely proud,” said Riccardo.
