Connection September 2021

Welcome to the September 2021 edition of Connection

In this edition of Connection, we reflect on Mobil’s transition of Altona refinery to a fuel import terminal. With most of the main facilities associated with the fuel refining process at Altona refinery now shut down, we take a look at the many months of planning by the refinery team which saw the shut down activities completed safely and as planned.  Works at the refinery to allow Mobil to import fuel through its deep-water port at Gellibrand wharf and store the fuel in existing tanks before transferring it to Yarraville terminal will soon be finalised and in this edition we also provide an overview of how Mobil’s Melbourne fuel supply chain will operate once conversion of the refinery to a fuel import terminal is completed. We also hear from the Yarraville terminal manager about how the terminal will maintain it's important role, integrating with the Altona facility to continue fuelling Victoria into the future.

Meanwhile, over in New Zealand, Mobil customers, agents and dealers have been busy raising more than $50,000 for KidsCan Charitable Trust, a local charity that provides the essentials that help Kiwi kids to learn and gives them an opportunity for a better future.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition of Connection, and if you do, please sign up to receive Connection directly in your inbox each month.
