Connection February 2021

Welcome to the February 2021 edition of Connection
In this edition of Connection, we provide some more information on the recent decision to convert Mobil Altona refinery to an import terminal this year.

While this was a disappointing outcome for the team at the refinery, we are committed to supporting them as we make this transition.

Mobil is proud to be a major supplier of fuel to Victoria and is committed to ensuring fuel continues to flow to Victorian fuel users throughout this transition period and beyond. We will continue to operate the refinery over the coming months to maintain the reliable supply of quality fuels our customers have come to rely on throughout this transition period.

We will also continue to support a significant number of local jobs throughout the conversion, decommissioning and remediation processes, as well as maintain ongoing jobs to support operation of the future fuel import terminal.

Read on to learn more about some of the factors that influenced this change in our Australian business and take a look back at some of the key milestones in Altona refinery’s 72 years of operation as well as look forward at how, through the future terminal, Mobil will continue fuelling Victoria.
