As announced by ExxonMobil in April 2022, Esso Australia is undertaking early front-end engineering design (pre-FEED) studies to determine the potential for carbon capture and storage to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from multiple industries in the Gippsland Basin.
In this edition of Connection, you can learn more about this exciting opportunity for Australia and how we are in active discussions with local industries which may be interested in accessing the South East Australia Carbon Capture Hub to reduce emissions from their operations. You can also read how our Chair, Dylan Pugh, highlighted this opportunity and our ongoing contribution to Australia’s energy security in his speech at the Victorian Treasurer’s Budget Briefing, hosted by the Centre for Economic Development earlier this month.
While we explore opportunities to contribute to Australia’s emissions reduction goals, we remain committed to maintaining our reliable supply of essential energy products and making meaningful contributions to communities close to our operations. Since the shutdown of Altona refinery’s operations six months ago, Mobil’s integrated Melbourne supply chain has demonstrated strong and consistent supplies to our customers and in this edition of Connection we share an important milestone the team recently achieved with the first import of diesel fuel delivered by a Long Range Vessel.
You can also read about how some of our team have been actively engaging with our local communities, through our work with Foodbank Victoria and participation in the Sale Air Show.
